Roach Says JuanMa-Rafa Better Option Than Mosley-Mora
HOLLYWOOD, CALIF. (August 6, 2010) ? In an election year endorsements count and one of boxing?s most-respected voices, four-time Boxing Writers Association of America Trainer of the Year World-Famous Freddie Roach,spoke up on which fight he?ll be watching on Saturday, September 18 ? the World Boxing Organization (WBO) featherweight title rumble between two-division world champions Juan Manuel ?Juanma? Lopez and Rafael Marquez. The Lopez vs. Marquez world title tilt will be televised live on SHOWTIME Championship Boxing from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
In an interview conducted by John Martinez and posted on FightHype.com on August 4, Roach offered this advice to fight fans:
?I want to know who?s thinking about buying the Mosley fight. Come on, it?s a former very good, but older champion going against a guy that starred in a reality TV show once in your main event. Sergio Mora, really? It?s a no-brainer; watch Juanma Lopez fight Rafael Marquez.?
Lopez and Marquez, the pride of Puerto Rico and M?xico, respectively,boast a combined record of 68-5 with an astounding 61 knockouts ? a winning percentage of 93% and a victory by knockout ratio of 90%.
