Undercard Announced for DeGuardia's KO Cancer Show..ALL Proceeds Go To Fight Cancer
On Saturday July 23rd, Joe DeGuardia's Star Boxing will team up with the American Cancer Society and the Hunts Point Produce Market to present the first annual “Knock Out Cancer” Boxing benefit. The card will be headlined by highly regarded, undefeated American prospect, Joe “The Future” Hanks (16-0, 11KO's) taking on former “Contender” participant, Alfredo Escalera Jr. (18-3-1, 12KO's) for the IBA Heavyweight Championship. In the co-feature bout of the evening, Alicia Ashley (16-9-1, 1KO) takes on Christina Ruiz (6-3-1, 1KO) for the WBC Female Super Bantamweight Championship of the World. The entire card will be broadcast on Go Fight Live. TV . All of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
The newest edition to Star Boxing's growing stable of fighters, Issouf Kinda (10-0, 5KO's) will also see action on the card when he takes on upset-minded Bryan Abraham (4-6-2, 4KO's) in a six round jr. welterweight match-up. Kinda was originally slated to face Bayan Jargal for the NYS jr. welterweight title, but Jargal was forced to pull out after suffering a cut during training. Abraham is by no means a pushover, having knocked out two previously undefeated fighters, one which came in his last fight in June.
Making his much anticipated pro-debut will be the Bronx's three-time Golden Gloves Champion, Livingstone Joseph. Joseph, who was a 2008 US Olympic Team Alternate, had over two hundred wins as an amateur. Joseph is scheduled to meet undefeated Treysean Wiggins (2-0, 2KO's) in a four round welterweight showdown.
Also scheduled to make his pro-debut on the card is the Bronx's Bruno Bouhi, as he takes on Borngod Washingston in a four round light heavyweight match-up.
“Knock Out Cancer” will take place Saturday, July 23rd at the Hunt Point Produce Market, which is located at 772 Edgewater Road, Bronx, NY 10474.
