ONE FC 9 Fight Results: Oishi & Bibiano New Champions
As quick as you could said Manila, Japan’s Koji Oishi took the ONE FC featherweight title from Honorio “The Rock” Banario (8-1) of the Philippines on Friday.
Oishi (24-9-10) used his overall veteran experience to defeat Banario (8-2) at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines. ONE FC 9 was called “Rise to Power” and saw yet another world championship change hands.
It took Oishi less than two rounds to land a left hook that stunned Banario and allowed the Japanese challenger to mount an all-out assault to finish the job. The fight was a surprise to the Filipino fans, but the new champion was cheered for his effort.
In the semi-main event Brazil’s Bibiano Fernandes (14-3) captured the ONE FC interim bantamweight by decision over Japan’s Koetsu Okazaki (8-3-1). Fernandes was able to control the fight on the ground with his superior grappling techniques and never allowed the Japanese fighter to gain an advantage.

In a battle between American heavyweights it was Tony Johnson (7-1) emerging victorious by technical knockout over former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia (31-9) in the very first round. The fight was stopped due to cuts at 3:25 of round one. Johnson is a former King of the Cage champion.
