Grano Out, Guinn In Vs. Adamek on Aug. 3 Main Events Show
Tony Grano got some bad news, when it turned out his bad back was diagnosed as a herniated disk. But the show must go on, so Tomasz Adamek (48-2) will fight a fill-in on Aug. 3 at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, on a card promoted by Main Events.
Vet Dominick Guinn (34-9-1; age 38) will sub in for the 20-3-1 Grano against the 36-year-old Polish heavyweight who last gloved up in December, when he won a controversial decision against Steve Cunningham.
A Curtis (24-3) Stevens-Saul (37-9) Roman middleweight scrap, and a cruiserweight fight pitting Eddie Chambers (36-3) against 13-1 South African resident Thabiso Mchunu bolster that card, which will run on NBC Sports Network.
Tony Grano pulled out of his fight with Adamek with a herniated disk, this afternoon.
No worries. Jolene has gotten Dominick Guinn, who is always in the gym, to take his place.
So the adamek fight is still on and the Aug 3rd card will proceed as planned.
