Mayweather, Alvarez Wins To Run Before “The Fight Game” Debut
It’s a special edition of WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING® when HBO Sports presents the exclusive replay of two world title fights when FLOYD MAYWEATHER VS. MIGUEL COTTO AND CANELO ALVAREZ VS. SHANE MOSLEY airs SATURDAY, MAY 12 at 10:15 p.m. (ET/ PT), exclusively on HBO. The HBO Sports team, which was ringside for the live coverage at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, calls all the action. The telecast will be available in HDTV.
Mayweather, one of the sport’s most celebrated superstars, and Cotto, a reigning super welterweight title-holder, matched up in boxing’s first mega-fight of the year on Saturday, May 5 in an event carried live on HBO Pay-Per-View®.
Leading off the boxing telecast on HBO will be the exclusive replay of the intriguing super welterweight title fight between rising star Canelo Alvarez and future Hall of Famer Sugar Shane Mosley. Alvarez, 21, sought to defend his 154-pount title for the fourth time.
Immediately following the replay of the two title fights, HBO Sports will present the series premiere of THE FIGHT GAME WITH JIM LAMPLEY (12 midnight ET/PT), the all new boxing studio program hosted by Lampley.
Other HBO playdates of the title fights: May 13 (10:00 a.m.) and 14 (11:30 p.m.)
HBO2 playdates of the title fights: May 13 (4:45 p.m.) and 15 (12:05 a.m.)
