Lee, a graduate of Notre Dame, has not fought since Sep. 15, 2012 when he defeated Paul Harness in a four round unanimous decision in Las Vegas, NV. Prior to that he defeated Tyler Seever with a second round TKO in Las Vegas, NV, Aug. 4, 2012. Mike trained for this fight with legendary southpaw and former IBF Heavyweight Champion Chris “Rapid Fire” Byrd (41-51, 22 KOs) in San Diego, CA. Lee said, “I am excited to be back in the ring. Working with Chris Byrd has been incredible. I am excited to be on the Main Events' card and out here in Philly.”
Lewison, who is also undefeated, has a staggering 83% knockout-to-win ratio in six career fights. His last fight was a six round majority decision win over Mike Sawyer Oct. 26, 2013 in his hometown of Georgetown, Cayman Islands. About Lee, Main Events' CEO Kathy Duva said, “Mike is a dynamic and charismatic young man. Between his Subway commercials and his ties to his Alma mater–Notre Dame–he brings a built-in fan base. I am certain that a legion of Mike's fans will be in the house and make their presence felt at Liacouras Center tomorrow night.”
NEW JERSEY (April 3, 2014) – Gary Shaw Productions has just signed undefeated Super Middleweight contender Brandon “Flawless” Gonzales (18-0-1, 10 KOs) to a promotional agreement. In his last fight, Gonzales, who hails from Sacramento, Ca, defeated previously unbeaten contender Jonathan Nelson (18-1, 8 KOs) back on November 11, 2103.
Gonzales, who is the IBF #3 ranked contender, had a successful 2013, going 3-0, winning two by unanimous decision, and one by split decision. He feels Shaw can get him the big fights he's been seeking.
“I know Gary can deliver the big fight,” said Brandon Gonzales. “All I want is an opportunity to accomplish my goal of becoming a word champion. I've worked my way up the rankings by winning tough fights and now I'm ranked #3 by the IBF. I feel the urgency to take my career to the next level and that's why I signed with Gary Shaw. Together I know we can do big things.”
With Brandon being highly ranked, Gary Shaw feels he has the ability to get him in a meaningful fight in the immediate future.
“Brandon Gonzales is a fighter with a lot of heart and talent and I'm happy he's part of the GSP family now,” said Gary Shaw. “He's highly ranked and a nice win will get him in position to fight for a world title. I look forward to Gonzales being in some big fights. He's a tremendous individual who I have a lot of respect for because he's come up the hard way, winning fights without the support that most contenders have on the way up. We will be making an announcement shortly on what's next for Gonzales”
