Female Lightweight Champ Crystal Morales To Fight Celine Roman

Published

on

IFBA female lightweight world champion Crystal “La Morenasa” Morales will meet Celine Roman in a non-title fight on Dec. 21, announced All Star Boxing.

Morales (pictured), 27, recently captured the lightweight world title this past summer and meets Chino’s Roman at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles. They’re one of the feature attractions on the large fight card.

The former member of Team Mexico lives in Oxnard and in their second fight defeated former world champion Rhonda Luna for the world title last August at Costa Mesa. It was a rematch of a very close previous encounter that saw fans throw money into the ring both times Morales and Luna fought.

“Nobody expected me to win,” said Morales (8-9-1) after the win on Aug. 15 at the OC Hangar.

Roman (2-1-1) began as a lightweight and dropped down to featherweight and now moves up back to lightweight. She’s a heavy-hitting boxer and likes to pressure opponents. The 24-year-old female has fought all of her fights in Southern California. Morales and Roman were supposed to meet earlier in the year but the fight card was canceled. Now they get their chance.

It should be another exciting prize fight where fans throw money in the ring. Both Morales and Roman are eager to show off their fighting skills and fans are never disappointed.
